More agency
for the child
Turn difficult care into visible progress toward a goal they chose.
The problem
Hospitals measure everything—except what it feels like to be the patient.
Children can experience fear, loss of control, and anxiety throughout medical care. KidPoints is built around a simple idea: we may not be able to change the procedure a child needs, but we can change how that child experiences it.
🧭
Loss of control

Most decisions in care are made for the child, not by the child.

😟
Procedure anxiety

Routine tests and treatments can become major emotional events.

🗣️
Emotions are easy to miss

Care teams need simple ways to see who may need more support.

Positive reinforcement helps

Preparation, celebration, and meaningful goals can make hard moments feel more manageable.

Built from lived experience

From pediatric patient to founder.

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis at age 10 and ultimately underwent two liver transplants after spending much of my childhood navigating hospitals, tests, procedures, and chronic illness.

Years later, after building my career around products and experiences for children, I kept coming back to one part of the hospital experience I remembered clearly: children have remarkably little agency over what happens to them.

KidPoints is the experience I wish I had.

What we want to prove next

One pediatric unit. 90 days.

We’re looking for a hospital partner to help test whether greater agency and positive reinforcement can meaningfully improve the pediatric care experience.
